Even though a few people arrived early, Monday was arrival day and registration. Our first meet and greet was an ice cream social hosted by Van City Las Vegas.

As always, everyone enjoyed getting acquainted over cold sweet treats. It was a beautiful evening.

This was “Learn all about your Leisure” day with several presentations and seminars covering everything LTV. Henderson’s Lineup started the morning talking about suspension issues and upgrades. One lucky attendee won a set of new shocks in a drawing, and many participants took advantage of suspension inspections.

Three members of LTV, Brad Wall, Brian Hiebert, and Don Klassen, came down from Winkler to talk to owners and answer questions about various coach issues. Towney Sausville and Brian Hiebert then led a question-and-answer Tech Talk session covering many issues. (rally 14) The visitors from Winkler stayed for the whole rally, visiting individuals and participating in the rest of the activities.

The day opened with decadent donuts and coffee before the annual business meeting. The Southwest LTV Road Runners Travelers Club has over 700 members, of which about 200 are active in activities and events. Besides the Annual Meeting at Oasis, there are two or three large rallies yearly and many smaller gatherings and trips led by individual members. It is a very successful, financially viable organization.

The afternoon was set aside for several activities. Melissa Bartlett presented her recent trip to Alaska with advice on organizing a similar excursion. The annual Putt Putt was held on the Oasis Golf Links (rally 15), followed by Movie Night. This year, the comedy Lost Vegas was screened. Thanks to Gordon Dupries for organizing this.

In the morning, there were seminars on “Using Starlink,” led by James Brummett, and “SWRR Website Features and Additions,” led by webmaster Mark Simons. The big announcement was the website now has a second access address. In addition to the long, original web address, typing swrr.club into your web browser search bar will bring you to our web page. This was followed by the annual “Paint and Sip.” Participants produced a masterpiece of their coach in a colorful woodland scene.

Then, everyone enjoyed a “build your own taco” dinner, followed by a musical evening featuring the Good Spring Drifter Band.

February 2

It was time to say, “See you next year,” and head on our ways. The next AGM at Oasis is scheduled to start on February 3 or February 10, 2025. Watch for the announcement and mark your calendars!
