“Vivian Howard, one of the owners of this restaurant, has made a name for herself on PBS and other outlets. She specializes in giving her takes on traditional Southern recipes. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is friendly. If you are in eastern North Carolina, it is worth the visit. Recommend the Flash Fried Collard Greens. This is a new take on a traditional Southern food. The flat leaves are quickly flash-fried and lightly sprinkled with sea salt. Absolutely delightful.”
