“Devils Tower is an amazing geologic feature that protrudes out of the prairie surrounding the Black Hills. The most popular hike is the Tower Trail, a 1.3-mile paved hiked that starts at the Visitor Center parking lot. There are many interesting spots to take photos on the hike around the base of the tower. Recommend taking binoculars on the hike as you will see climbers heading up to the top of the tower (permits are required to climb to the top). Parking is adequate for RVs. The tower was featured in the 1977 movie ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’, which adds a little extra fun to this natural wonder. Check the Devils Tower website for information regarding campgrounds.”
