Small spots dot small roads in the forest land near Newberry National Volcanic Monument and Lava Lands. The Newberry National Volcanic Monument was created within the boundaries of the Deschutes National Forest.
Best Sites or Attractions Here
Sites may not be epic, but the proximity to the 54,000-plus acres of lakes, lava flows, and wonderful geologic features in central Oregon is a plus. The highest point within the monument is the summit of Paulina Peak (7,985 feet), showcasing views of the Cascades, Newberry Caldera, and across the High Desert.
