Starting at Salton City, take S22 west to Borrego Springs. After checking out this charming desert village, head up into the surrounding mountains to see vistas down onto the desert floor and up toward the surrounding mining areas. From there, continue west toward Warner Springs and on into Temecula wine country. The drive is both scenic and peaceful, with kind people to meet along the way. 

Scenic Drive Tips

Enjoy free camping in Anza Borrego Desert State Park, with beautiful star gazing at night. Visit Bighorn Fudge Shop in Borrego Springs for ice cream, fudge, and friendly people. There are historic stops all along the route with roadside signs explaining the area. Warner Springs has a small hot springs resort with golf, horseback riding, and a restaurant.
