British Columbia’s famous Sea-to-Sky Highway (BC Highway 99) is an incredible drive from Vancouver to Whistler, legendary for the majestic ocean and mountain views around every bend. Starting at the beautiful bays outside of Vancouver and continuing through mountain ranges with streams, rivers, and high peaks, this spectacular drive is actually also quite an easy one, as the highway was widened to accommodate the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Scenic Drive Tips

There are many stops available along the way for a picnic or just a rest to enjoy the view. Whistler is a beautiful ski resort town. Highway 99 runs directly along Joffre Lakes Provincial Park and Duffey Lake Provincial Park. Stop for a rest at Seton Lake Recreation Area or Cottonwood Recreation Site, both near Lillooet. Visit the Britannia Mine Museum, a National Historic Site, near Squamish. Hike into Shannon Falls. Scuba dive at Porteau Cove. Take the gondola to the top of Stawamus Chief.
