Description and Tips
This easy trail is straight up the hill to the peak, and wanders up and down over the ridge looking over the Tularoso Basin, with the Sierra Blanco Mountain on the other side. Stone stairs are set into the hillside, and it is a bit rocky to the turnaround. You are encouraged to take side trails off the main one. The petroglyphs you see were etched into the rocks by the Jordana Mogollon people of 2,000 plus years ago. Faces, birds, lizards and geometric shapes of all kinds cover the boulders. The trail may be an hour long, but it is an all day experience.
