About
Valley of the Gods is on the main Utah Monument Valley Road (Hwy 163), 8 miles northwest of Mexican Hat and 16 miles southeast of Bluff, Utah. Turn north onto Valley of the Gods Road, and you will be on a potential 17-mile loop that takes you back to Hwy 163, about 4 miles north of where you entered. This road loops around and among the stunning red sandstone buttes similar to those seen in Monument Valley. The road is dirt/sand and crosses some dry creek beds. If you find the road uncomfortable, turn around and return the way you came in. But be careful not to drive off the road into a sandy area where you could get stuck. Stay on the road and at the pull-outs, and you will be good. There are no services between Mexican Hat and Bluff, so bring everything you will need for your stay, and LOVE THE VIEWS!

There are many turn-off spots for overnight camping among the rocks. The 17-mile loop is generally doable in a 25′ Leisure Travel as long as the road is dry.

Close by the Vally of the Gods, where you can see beautiful Cedar Mesa sandstone monoliths, pinnacles, and other geological features, this enchanting area is known as a Miniature Monument Valley.
