One of our favorites is a short drive from Junction, TX. On the South LLano River for water activities. 22 miles of trails. One of the largest native turkey roosts in the state. Some trails closed from October 1 thru March 31. Four bird blinds for good birding. Nice campsites among the oaks and a few native pecans.

Don’t miss Lum’s BBQ. Claims to be the world’s best – might be a stretch, but pretty darned good! We never drive past Junction without stopping to eat; we don’t care what time it is as long as Lum’s is open. Cooper’s is a fancied-up version of their original marvelous BBQ joint in Llano. This one ain’t the same….
