Trail Start and End Details

Mount Vernon Trail at George Washington Memorial Parkway starts on the Virginia side at Theodore Roosevelt Island. The trail passes through Old Town, Virginia, and past Regan National Airport, ending at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate.

Description and Tips

Mount Vernon Trail is paved, mostly flat but for a hill toward the southern end, and free of vehicles, making for a relaxing ride for any type of bike. Enjoy beautiful views of Washington, DC! Both end points are worth exploring, and Old Town offers many great places to eat.
