About
“Just outside of Lone Pine, California, just off of the Mt. Whitney Portal Road, we found the perfect boondocking spot. We camped for FREE for five days over Memorial Day weekend. Turns out that over 400 movies have been filmed here, mostly old black and white westerns from ‘back in the day’. Now I watch old westerns to see our ‘favorite campground’. There’s lots of camping around here. Tuttle Creek Campground is inexpensive and has assigned sites. It is located close to Alabama Hills and has more creature comforts.”

“Breakfast at the café in Lone Pine (arrive early), and also visit the Museum of Western Film History in Lone Pine.”
