The Reno Rendezvous – Southwest LTV Roadrunners 2022 Spring Rally

All articles Close

The Southwest LTV Roadrunners gathered in Verdi, Nevada May 16-21 for their Spring 2022 Rally, The Reno Rendezvous at the Gold Ranch Casino and RV Resort.

It is a very nice and spacious RV Park in a rural area just outside of Reno (an easy drive into town on I-80) on the California/Nevada border. There were a total of 45 LTVs: 39 Unities, one Libero, one Serenity, one Wonder, one Free Spirit, and one Freedom.

The weather was perfect, as we had ordered even though there had just been snow a week earlier! The Rally activities included old favorites and there were a couple of special activities that were well received. Of course, there was the regular evening happy hours where people gathered to discuss upcoming events, adventures from the day, and just a chance to relax and visit with old friends and make new friends.

Now that Covid restrictions have lessened, we had our first potluck in two years and as usual, there was enough of a variety of tasty dishes. Everyone had more than enough to savor!

The highlight of the Rally in many people’s minds was the 3 ½ hour lunch cruise on beautiful Lake Tahoe on the Tahoe Gal.

The day was perfect, the lake was calm, the views were amazing, and the cameras were snapping and I’m sure there wasn’t a bad picture in the bunch.

Thursday was seminar day. In the morning, representatives from Battleborn Batteries, a local Reno company, addressed a group about batteries in general as well as lithium upgrades.

In the afternoon, Towney gave one of his ever-popular and ever-changing Tech Talks and there is always something new to learn!

In addition, people took the opportunity to go into Reno and other places in the area to explore, take bike rides and hikes, go shopping, and maybe even try their luck at the casinos! It was another successful Roadrunner Rally and we are looking forward to seeing everyone at the next Rally coming up soon!
