FL FLAMINGLES SPRING 2017 RALLY
Have you ever been to St. Augustine, FL; the oldest city in America?
We spent 3 days exploring this great city as well as socializing with out LTV friends, new and old. We had a wonderful Shuttle pick us up at the Compass RV Park and deposit us at the first stop on the St. Augustine Hop on-Hop off Trolley which at the Old Jail and the Oldest Store. From there we toured the city from the comfort of the trolley; getting off where there was something of interest to us, or continuing around the city if we wanted to ride and view all the offerings before making a decision. There were tours of St. George St. which has much of the old city buildings and a lot of new shopping spots, Tours of Flagler sites such as the Lightner Museum and many buildings built by Henry Flagler such as hotels, churches and college.
The tour of Castillo de San Marcos Fort was enchanting and the cannon demonstration was ear shattering. You could also explore the Fountain of Youth (maybe it works??).
After our busy days touring St Augustine we met back at Compass RV Park for Happy Hours, dinners, discussions and entertainment /campfires provided by Compass. There was a brand new clubhouse with kitchen facilities where we could gather to share our experiences on the road and with our LTV units both with how they function and also new finds like protectants, screen rooms and interior re-dos available. Our members are a wealth of good information!
After all this fun and sharing we all felt we had a lot of new “friends” that we could call on for vital information. Everyone shared their homemade delicious meals as well as their information. I for one can’t wait for our next rally!!!
