Clayton Lake is a Gold level International Dark Sky Park thanks to night skies that feature very little light pollution. The park has its own 14-inch Mead telescope and a Lake Observatory.

Nearby Attractions

Clayton Lake State Park is also the site of some the most well-preserved dinosaur trail drags anywhere in the US and has a visitor center with information on dinosaurs as well as the geology of the region.
