Description and Tips
This is the trail to go to when you don’t want to fight the crowds at Jenny Lake or Inspiration Point. The trail was almost totally ours — we only passed 4 others. The gravel parking lot is a short distance off the main road and unmarked, so you won’t find it unless you are looking for it and will think “where am I going?” with your LTV. Likewise the trail — there are some discrepancies in online maps and reality on the ground. But there are some good climbs and plenty of places to stop, look, and catch your breath. It’s a wonderful hike with a lot of views when you finally get to the top and see the peaks of the Tetons to the west and the two lakes below — a great place to eat your lunch. You could connect to other trails as well to make it a loop and a longer hike.
