LTV FMCA Chapter Rally at 108th International Convention

We met at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, Arizona, on Sunday, March 17. We were two days ahead of the Convention’s start, so there was no waiting in line to park with the other 1128 RVs attending the Convention. Eleven coaches from seven states across the United States caravanned into our week-long parking spot, and what a parking spot we had! We were exactly in the center of everything!

On Sunday, we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a hearty Irish stew, colcannon potatoes, salad, and rolls catered by our chuckwagon hosts Fran and Harry. The next day, they amazed us with omelets in a bag for breakfast and a taco bar for dinner.

Many of us were new to FMCA, so we had an orientation about this chapter, FMCA, and what highlights to expect during the convention. Questions about our LTVs, other LTV Travelers Clubs, and travel destinations were discussed during our rally and at the convention.

Did I say we had a fantastic site location? Camped on pavement or gravel, only 39 steps to Town Center, complimentary morning coffee and donuts were served daily once the Convention began, and daily entertainment was performed on stage. The ice cream social was there, too! We were on the activity cart route, so if the short distance to the trade show exhibits, main stage, seminar locations, or food court was too far, we could catch a ride around the fairgrounds. Gathering nightly around a fire pit, we could hear the entertainers in the distance and only had to go to the main stage to enjoy the comic in person. During the day, many of us answered questions about our LTVs to other convention attendees since we looked like a manufacturer’s display lining the corner of two streets!

At the end of our week together, we said goodbye to our new and old friends and headed in many directions. Many of us are planning to attend specific conventions in the near future.

Our next rally is in Redmond, Oregon, beginning August 11, 2024. Check our website for more details.
