LTV Québec – June 16-18, 2017

I discovered this group of Leisure Travel Vans owners in Quebec in October 2016 when I purchased my 2015 Unity TB. Through its Facebook group, the members advised me, helped me out and guided me better than any user’s manual combined! A Facebook group is always a bit scary at the beginning. But what a wonderful source of information! Everyone is always respectful and even the sense of humor of certain members brings us easily a smile, often lessening a situation with a solution! A place to visit, an issue with the engine, the fridge or the propane, an advice on a product, an application to discover, a trip to plan, the list could go on and on! That is our group! A wealth of information and tips from real owners like us!

An enjoyable and enriching weekend

It is with pleasure that I agreed to summarize this second LTV Québec rally, tremendously well organized by Jean-François, Denis, Luc and their spouses, including of course Suzanne Laviolette and Jean StArnaud, who invited us in their wonderful region, Victoriaville. During the weeks leading to the event, Suzanne and Jean took the time to write short informative and touristic notes to entice us to discover Victoriaville and its surroundings.

Below is a glimpse of the location of the 37 participating members.

A welcoming group

An enjoyable and enriching weekend

It is with pleasure that I agreed to summarize this second LTV Québec rally, tremendously well organized by Jean-François, Denis, Luc and their spouses, including of course Suzanne Laviolette and Jean StArnaud, who invited us in their wonderful region, Victoriaville. During the weeks leading to the event, Suzanne and Jean took the time to write short informative and touristic notes to entice us to discover Victoriaville and its surroundings.

A great experience at a local duck producer, le Verger du Canard Goûteux, in Warwick, who kindly welcomed us on their site.

When I arrived Friday around 1 pm, almost half of the LTV owners were already there. The huge amount of rain that we had the days prior to the rally did not make it easy for some of us, who needed the help of a tractor…! In the end, we all came together and met at the opening reception, which ended up being an opening dinner, with crudités, cheese, pâtés, etc.

Under the tent, there were numerous exchanges and we were all so happy to get to know each other and talk about our own RV.

On Saturday, the clouds were replaced with a nice summer day of blue skies, heat and humidity. Since the “Festival du fromage, bouffes et traditions” was held right downtown Victo that same weekend, some participants took the opportunity to go and take a look at what they had to offer. Several cyclists enjoyed a bike ride, and it was also possible to try out Velec electrical bikes, lent to us free of charge by ParVélo.

During the day, some spontaneous training sessions were held, which helped us discover tips and customizations from one another. People were inviting others to take a look at their RV, warm exchanges as well as friendships were created. Technical topics were on the table but people were also talking about trips!

And what about the Saturday night dinner! A delicious meal prepared by le Canard Goûteux, which introduced us to their products living up to their reputation. Again, the many personal stories told by members made this evening great, an evening that ended around a camp fire….and much later, with a little ditty from our friend Denis…Mille après mille….

The AGA held Sunday morning went smoothly. Door prizes graciously donated by sponsors were offered followed by presentations by two suppliers, one for custom mattresses and the other, Komo bike storage boxes.

And slowly, we all left either to go back home or to continue our journey!

Personally, what I loved most about this group is its welcoming atmosphere. I felt comfortable and accepted right away. I learned things and I think that whenever I will go back to the Facebook group to get a recommendation, it will be like asking advices from my friends. Since the rally, I read comments on the site and I enjoy putting a face on people. It is a great group that I will look forward to see again!

As Patricia sings so well : If you’re looking for an adventure, why don’t you buy a Leisure. Pleasure guaranteed, promised! And join LTV Québec!

To conclude, as Suzanne and Jean told us, the characteristics that best describe their region are its people, their proudness and warm welcome. Thank you very much for receiving us with such generosity!
