Some of the Midwest LTVers gathered in northern Minnesota for a mini-Rally at two different Army Core of Engineers campgrounds at Cross Lake and Gull Lake from June 5-11.

We had a total of 14 LTVs which made for a total of 27 people in attendance. There were a lot of familiar faces but also some new members who were excited to be attending their very first LTV Rally. We experienced great weather, but the mosquitos were busy.

Each day began with breakfast treats and coffee and some mornings we were treated to yummy breakfast burritos made by Ann Dudler. One morning, we had a “big breakfast cookout” with pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, an egg bake in a dutch oven on coals, breakfast bread, and other treats.

To go with the morning breakfasts, we had discussions about LTV and travel-related information. One morning many of the members shared various items that they use in their LTV and travels.

During the day, some of the group went biking, fishing, and walking by the lakes and in the campground. Some did a group bike ride around the area trails as well. We also played games and chatted about our travels and future plans.

We had a group lunch at Ernie’s on Gull Lake where some of the group rode their bikes and others came in their LTVs to the restaurant on the lake.

The evening meals ranged from grilled brats, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken burrito bowls, and a potluck of sides, salads, and desserts. There was plenty of food at the mini-Rally! We also enjoyed bonfires many evenings.

Our “LTV family” continues to grow and it was a great time spending time with these wonderful people. We hope that others will consider joining us at a future Rally!
