The Midwest LTVers gathered for our 2022 Spring Rally at Canning Creek Campground from April 29 – May 3, 2022, near Council Grove, Kansas. Council Grove is a small town in east/central Kansas and on the Santa Fe Trail with a lot of historical sites in the area.

We had a total of 29 LTVs and 1 couple that has an order placed for a Unity TB, which gave a total of 58 people that attended the Rally. There were familiar faces, but also many new members who were attending their first LTV Rally. For many of the group, it was their first time in this area of Kansas.

We experienced all kinds of different weather from 80°F (27°C) to cold, wind, and rain, and on Friday evening of the Rally; we had tornadoes in the area but we all survived with no damage to any of the LTVs.

Every morning we began with a meeting which was for sharing LTV information, previous and future rally details, the daily schedule, and announcements. Don Klassen, one of the LTV Territory Sales Managers, attended our Saturday morning meeting and provided updates about LTV history, production, and models, and answered many questions from the LTV owners.

Presentations

On Sunday morning, Andy Dudler shared his internet access solution with the group and we had a presentation from Mark Salansky, Lead Program Manager of the Recreation.gov program. Monday morning of the Rally, we had guest speakers via Zoom from Van City, St. Louis who also sponsored a catered breakfast that same morning and even provided a prize of rear Timbren Springs with installation in St. Louis. Later that same morning, we enjoyed another Zoom presentation by Jim Yates from Truma in Elkhart, IN. Both presentations were very informative for the LTV owners.

Every day of the rally at 3:00 p.m., we had information and educational sessions including learning about how to operate the convection oven and receiving pizza samples which were baked in the convection oven of a Unity FX. We also learned about the On The Go Water Softener, Instant Pot, and IP recipes. One evening we also had a show and tell to allow LTVers to share their modifications with the group and also share some items they love for their LTV.

Activities

One special addition to our rally was a historical tour of the Council Grove area in an enclosed trolley, thank you to LTV for sponsoring the three trolley tours including a tour guide.

During the day, some of the group made birdhouses from a birdhouse kit and decorated them with license plates, paint, and other decorative materials. Some also participated in a group bike ride around the area trails. We also played games, chatted about our travels and future plans, and met new members. Unfortunately, evening weather conditions only allowed for a bonfire one evening of the Rally.

Food

There was plenty of food at the rally! We started each day with a catered breakfast and coffee from local restaurants all thanks to Van City, St. Louis and our evening meals ranged from grilled brats, a Mexican Fiesta, pulled pork sandwiches, and a baked potato bar.

Our “LTV family” continues to grow and it was great spending time with these wonderful LTVers. We want to say thank you to LTV for all of their contributions, Don and Rose Klassen for attending a portion of our Rally, Mark Salansky, Jim Yates, Andy Dudler, and Van City, St. Louis for their presentations, and to the great group of volunteers that helped out with grilling, organizing the tables of food and serving. We hope that others will consider joining us at a future rally!
