The news of Al Yoder’s passing came as a shock to us. Al had a wonderful way about him and his sphere of influence extended well beyond his family, his former businesses and his immediate community. Al was a patriarchal figure in the best sense of the word and many grieve his passing.
Few industry people, including our own dealers and customers are aware that Al Yoder convinced us to build the “Unity” motorhome, utilizing the murphy bed. The very first Unity was built especially for him (pictured above). This prototype was later introduced at the 2009 annual RVIA show in Louisville, KY. The Unity Murphy Bed quickly became one of Leisure Travel Vans’ best selling models. We are extremely grateful to Al Yoder for being instrumental in our present success.
Our heartfelt condolences go to Marie and the family. May they experience comfort in knowing how highly many of us regarded Al Yoder.
