    Midwest LTVers Spring Rally

Join the Midwest LTVers for a quick trip to Yankton South Dakota! We will be staying at the Lewis & Clark Recreation Area.

We will arrive Thursday May 4th (arriving late,) and leave Sunday May 7th in the afternoon. So we will have 2 1/2 days of relaxation. Lewis & Clark Recreation Area is in the Southeast part of the state. I am working hard to find central locations based on our membership in our group and this one seemed to work. The fee for 3 nights with tax and non resident charge is $68.13.

They have a lake, 6 mile bike trails, 1/2 mile Nature Trail and 4/1 mile multi-use trail, putt putt golf, beach area (might not be warm enough for that just yet), Marina Grill (featuring hamburger, steaks, sandwiches etc), ice cream place, disc golf, 8 miles from Gavins Point Dam (a hydroelectric dam on the Missouri River), Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery & Aquarium to name a few things.

This is a South Dakota State park and there is a $6 entrance fee or $30 for the year. If you are going to Custer State Park with us in September, it might be worth getting the $30 yearly pass.

The prime water sites are $21 plus tax and other sites are $19 plus tax and a $7.70 non resident fee. All sites have electric. To keep us all in one location, I couldn’t get enough sites on the water, so we are CLOSE to the water…so the fee is $19 a night.

To register go to travel.campsd.com. Click on Make a reservation. This website isn’t the easiest to maneuver around…so have patience. You want to reserve a spot at the Lewis & Clark Recreation Center…this is in the Southeast region (it asks you this) and then once you get to the Lewis & Clark Recreation Center reservations, we are in the Gavins Point Section. Our camping site is 84E. Try to get the sites around that so we can visit and have campfires right there. There is a middle area that we can all hang out in.

We love to hike and ride bikes, so we will be bringing our bikes. We will make time as a group to have a few meals together and sit around the campfire and get to know each other and even tour others LTV’s.

If you are attending, please email me (gottastamp.icloud.com) and let me know what site you are at so I can have a map of everyone.

    Hope you can join us!
