The Florida Flamingles held their Spring Rally April 12-15, 2024 in the beautiful rolling countryside at the Ocala North RV Resort; 171 owners attended, and 88 LTVs were represented.
The three-night, four-day event included educational content and social time. Our rally attendance has grown 22% since November, and 45% of the attendees were first-timers.
Our registration grew so much that we outgrew the physical facilities, so we had a 40′ × 80′ tent erected for our meals and meetings. Our volunteers were amazing throughout the event!
Members of ‘The Florida Flamingles Flock’ attended and participated in three programs on Saturday that included:
Boondocking and Moochdocking: (Panel discussion), we covered the ins and outs of traveling free of parks and campgrounds.
Destinations and Drives: (Interactive tabletop discussions), moderated by our Destination Diva, Robyn Motley who choreographed 17 volunteer team table captains.
Suspension: Climbing Under the Rig with Matt Okerson from CTM Customs gave an informed session on the ins and outs of the major mechanical structures under our LTVs.
When the Flock wasn’t attending program sessions, they socialized with each other during catered meal events; two full American breakfasts, two lunches, one reception, and two dinners; all meals were spectacular (we charged each attendee $100). Our rally even had side-by-side campfires on Saturday night.
We held our semi-annual Business Meeting on Sunday morning. We also featured the Flamingles Online Merchandise Store; plenty of owners purchased clothing in time for the Spring Rally.
Of course, we held our ever-popular Open Forum, where members could ask any question they wanted, either technical or travel-related.
After the Open Forum, the Flamingles took Sunday afternoon off to hang around the pool, get energized during a pickleball round, explore the massive 380-site campground by bicycle, or just hang out with friends at their campsite.
By the end of the weekend, we had given away $2,000 in door prizes (thanks to our six generous sponsors), which more than half of our attendees won. Our sponsors also provided unique special offers, some valued at $500 (or more), exclusively for members of the Florida Flamingle Flock. Many members of the Flamingles Flock have already blocked their calendars for our Fall Rally, to be held November 1-4, 2024. We hope to see you there!
