This, too, is another one of our club’s regularly scheduled rallies. In late August each year, we rendezvous at a designated RV park to begin our caravan rally to the Triple E/Leisure Travel Van Owner’s Rally in early September in Winkler, MB, Canada. This year is the factory’s 50th Anniversary. The LTV Factory is making special plans to celebrate including starting the Owner’s Rally a day earlier on Tuesday instead of Wednesday. The dates have now been officially announced. It will be held September 8 Tuesday-12 Saturday.
Our rendezvous location is the Pheasant Ridge RV Resort in Wilsonville, OR on Sunday, August 23rd. You may want to arrive a day or two earlier to rest and possibly do some sightseeing in the Portland area. George and Aileen will already be there following their arrival after the Oregon Washington Scenic Wonders Rally in July. The caravan will depart on Monday, August 24th to begin traveling north to Leavenworth, WA, then into Canada and Kelowna BC, continuing on to Jasper, AB. Our plan is to stay there 5 nights then travel east to Edmonton, AB; Saskatoon, SK; Winnipeg, MB and arrive in Winkler, MB the early afternoon on Monday, September 7th. Like in years past, we will have a potluck dinner upon our arrival and stay one night at the City Park in Winkler. The next day, Tuesday, we will head over to the Winkler Bible Camp a short distance away where the Factory Rally is being held. George has contacted the City of Winkler to reserve 18 sites. If more sites are needed George can usually obtain these but he will need to know well in advance. There is no deposit required so George won’t be requesting any money in advance. But, he will need to collect $25CD/night, emphasis Canadian dollars, for each RV site. Remember, you don’t have to travel with our caravan rally to stay at the Winkler City Park on September 7th. You can travel on your own, as several have done in the past, and simply meet us there when we arrive. If you plan to arrive earlier to have the LTV Factory do work on your RV you can park your RV at the Factory for free. They have electrical hookups and a few sites with water. You can then join us at the Winkler City Park on the 7th or earlier, providing you let George know so he can coordinate your arrival with the Winkler City Park staff.
ACTION: Let George know preferably by February 11th or as soon as possible afterwards if you are intending to go on this caravan rally or if you are planning to meet us there in Winkler. The LTV Factory has announced their 2015 Owner’s Rally and has provided an on-line registration form at: http://leisurevans.com/rally/index.html. COMPLETE THIS IMMEDIATELY to ensure you have a reserved site and note in the comments section that you’d like to be parked with the Southwest LTV Roadrunners RV Club (George Ormsby) and the Evergreen Leisures RV Club (Mary Jane Musser). Sites at the Bible Camp are processed on a first-come-first serve basis. Let George know you have completed your reservation. Typically, only 65 RVs are permitted to register for this event.
