Join the Heartland LTV’ers in the beautiful Door County of Wisconsin. This peninsula on Lake Michigan is packed with natural beauty, activities, and sights.
The rally will be held in the center of Door County at Baileys Grove Campground in Baileys Harbor, from September 28 to October 1. We will be meeting at the campground’s “group gathering space”. It is in their rec center building, which includes two pickleball courts (see their ‘amenities’ page). Baileys Harbor touts itself as the quiet side of the county.
From the campground, it is less than a one-mile walk to downtown Baileys Harbor or to the Ridges Sanctuary. The downtown area parallels the lakeshore with shops, restaurants, a Marina, parks, and beaches. The Ridges Sanctuary is a nature preserve with a nature center, a boardwalk, other nature trails, and beaches.
For lighthouse enthusiasts, there are 11 lighthouses in Door County, dating back to the 1800s. There are three in the Baileys Harbor area: the Birdcage lighthouse downtown, the Range Lights in the Ridges Sanctuary, and the Cana Island Lighthouse, a 15-minute drive.

From the campground, you can easily get to many other points of interest in the county. For example, a 15-minute drive can get you to Sister Bay and the somewhat famous Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant to find goats on the roof!

Or, a 20-minute drive south gets you to Cave Point.

There are many bike-friendly roads and bike trails in Door County. See their biking guide for more information.
Door County is a popular destination, so it is important to register early. We will cap the registration at 32 coaches.
Registration is open, and you need to complete the following two key steps.
- Secure your campsite reservation. Look online at the Baileys Grove campground map and find the rec building with the “group space” where we will meet. Pick the type of site and location. Rates range from $55 to $68 per night. Military veterans can get a 10% discount. You will need to pay a 50% deposit. Call the campground at 920-839-2559 and tell them that you want to reserve for the Heartland Rally. The campground will close for the season from the end of October to May. During that time, call and leave a voicemail, and they will call you back.
- Click here for the rally registration and complete the online form. When we reach the cap, it will be posted on the form, and you can complete the form to be placed on the waiting list.
Baileys Grove Campground will hold 32 sites for our early registration, but at some point, they will release them to other customers. We anticipate that this rally will fill quickly. Please register early. There will be a $10 per-person rally fee, collected at the rally.
