Many RVers trek to Quartzsite AZ to boondock in the desert. Quartzsite consists of the area surrounding the four corners where Interstate 10 and U.S. Highway 95 intersect.
There are two roads which parallel I-10: Main Street runs north of 10 and Kuehn Street runs south of 10. Vendor stalls selling a variety of merchandise are scattered everywhere, rather loosely organized into flea market areas known as the Main Event, Tyson Wells Sellerama, Prospector’s Panorama, and Rice Ranch.
This is dry camping, you come when you want and leave when you want. There is an RV Pit Stop just down the highway from us that offers dump, fresh water and propane.

What is The “Q”
Largest gathering of RV’s in the world meet at Quartzsite AZ every January.
Plus, there is a big Q on the side of a mountain near the town.
Why?
BLM Land surrounding the Q allows free camping.
Because of this gathering of RVers, they set up a massive white tent that is all RV items inside. There are several other vendor areas that offer swap meet items, and beautiful rocks and gems.
*Gem show is the two weeks prior to the big tent.
Why go there?
Free camping with fellow LTVer’s. Bike rides, the big white tent, dark skies at night and wonderful campfires. Verizon cell service is excellent at camp.
What’s the camping like?
This is dry camping, no hookups, in the middle of the desert, on hard pack pebbles.
New to dry camping? No worries. You’re among friends and this is a great place to learn dry camping techniques.
What do I bring?
Potluck item or two. Firewood, table if you have one.
Reservations?
NONE!! That’s the beauty of dry camping at The Q.
Arrive when you want, leave when you want. We will find a space for you amongst us.
What if my waste tanks get full?
There is an RV Pit Stop just down the road from us where you can dump tanks, get fresh water and propane.
How do I get there?
We are located off Plomosa Rd. First challenge is getting to Quartzsite.
Once there, from Main St and Central Rd (Hwy 95) take Hwy 95 North 5.7 miles to Plomosa Rd. Turn right. Drive East on paved Plomosa Rd 1.6 miles, until you see this sign. Turn left.
You are now on dirt roads for about a mile. Now watch for the yellow cowboy boots.
They will be tied to the bushes along the correct route to camp.
