Get out of the cold winter and head to Arizona! The Midwest LTVers Arizona Rally will be at the Aztec Village RV Park in Wickenburg, Arizona, for four nights, March 18–22. Aztec Village RV Park is located next to downtown Wickenburg. There is a footbridge that connects the RV park to downtown. Wickenburg was founded in 1863 when Henry Wickenburg discovered gold. It is now known for its cowboy life and is the team roping capital of the world and the Senior Pro Rodeo. Downtown Wickenburg has many excellent shops, restaurants, and the Desert Caballeros Western Museum.
The Del E. Webb Performing Arts Center, located by Wickenburg High School, will feature “The Barricade Boys” at 7:30 on Wednesday, March 19th. They are a group from London’s West End who will perform at the “Broadway Party.” To buy tickets, please click here.
The Hassayampa River Preserve is three miles south of the Aztec RV Park. It has a nature center, numerous trails, and is a great birding location. We hope that the turkey vultures are migrating when you visit. They roost in the cottonwood trees at Aztec RV Park.
There are ranches nearby where you can go horseback riding, and a company rents ATVs/UTVs. You can go on a guided tour or venture out on the trails by yourself. There may be rodeos to attend while you are here.
Wickenburg has two public golf courses, and Wickenburg Ranch has a private 18-hole course and a 9-hole par-3 course called Li’l Wick. Wickenburg Ranch also has tennis, pickleball, bocce ball, and horseshoes that up to six guests can play at a time. The Ranch also has restaurants and over 30 beautifully private paved roads for biking! There are also miles of trails to hike within the Ranch and many more nearby.
Our meeting place will be 6.5 miles up the road at Greg and Kathy Palmquists’ home, 3246 Maverick Drive, Wickenburg, AZ 85390. Registration will be at our house from 1:00 pm–5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 18. This will allow all of us to be in a sheltered environment in case the weather is bad. The rally will have a maximum capacity of 20 LTVs.
Once you have made a reservation at the Aztec Village RV Park, please email Kathy Palmquist at [email protected] with your site number and name. A $10.00 rally fee will be collected at registration. It will cover any additional expenses for the rally.
We are excited to see you in Arizona!
