Description and Tips
Beautiful hike with some steep sections and slightly difficult terrain. It can be strenuous but well worth the effort. The trail surface is mostly packed with some rocks. There are alternate trails running parallel so you do have some options. The trail follows a stream with occasional waterfalls which leads you to Mills Lake and Jewel Lake before reaching Black Lake… which is amazing. Lots of trout in the lakes and stream along the way if you are looking to fish. It’s best to get an early start as the trailhead fills up quickly and the trail can get busy.
