Description and Tips
The slow start on the 4 km access road is rewarded with incredible 360 degree views at Boulder Pass over Baker Lake and remote Banff National Park. The pass resembles it’s name with huge boulders and cliffs, and often the hoary marmots will whistle and skitter about as you walk by. This in-and-back hike is a part of the larger Skoki loop and is also the start of the hike to Skoki Lodge – a national historic backcountry lodge with amazing hospitality. If you want to avoid hiking the fire road, book a few nights at Skoki and the shuttle will take you the first 4 km.
