About

The Grand Canyon is one of the most iconic geological sites in the world. Carved by the Colorado River, the canyon is averages 4,000 feet deep along 277 miles. The canyon is 6,000 feet deep at its deepest point and 18 miles at its widest.

Nearby Campgrounds

We stayed at Mather Campground, which is located in Grand Canyon Village along the south rim. There is another campground located along the North Rim, so depending on your route, you may want to consider that one as well.

Nearby Attractions

Grand Canyon Village offers something for everyone, from simply taking in the views of the canyon from one of the many viewpoints to multi-day hikes. We enjoyed exploring the bike paths located throughout the south rim.
