“If you’re a beef lover guy or gal, Harris Ranch is a must-stop. It is located at the intersection of I-5 and State Rt 198 near Coalinga, California, between LA and Sacramento. Harris Ranch is known for their fine beef distributed to better markets throughout central and southern California. Not much to see or do in the area, but well worth the stop anyway for lunch or dinner. They have three different dining venues with somewhat different menus – the bar area (casual), main restaurant, and a more upscale “steakhouse” dining room. Great steaks and other beef selections, plus delicious soups, salads, breads, side dishes, and desserts. They do it all! An added bonus is you can stay overnight for free (no hookups) in the parking lot of their beautiful inn/hotel. Get up in the morning and walk to breakfast for numerous offerings of steak and eggs. I like the Whiskey Smoked Salt and Brown Sugar Rubbed Rib Eye with side of twice-baked potato, caesar salad, and steamed veggies.”
