Description and Tips

The Sound of Silence Trail is a moderate to difficult trail in the Dinosaur National Monument, specifically 2 miles East of the Quarry Visitor Center. The hike is through several of the monument rock layers, up and down and around. There are some steep descents on sheer rock and great views from the highest point. The diversity of the layers and topography keeps you wondering what your surroundings will be at the next turn. The changes were unexpected and very interesting.
