This site was found because we arrived too early at the NF campground, so the option to boondock came about. As you approach the Tusayan from the south, you’ll see a roundabout just before the village of Tusayan. About 100 feet past the roundabout on your right, you’ll find a nicely kept dirt road. As you proceed up the hill on that road, you’ll see that there are actually multiple boondocking opportunities here.

The Kaibab National Forest is close by and offers 300+ miles of trails and other activities such as boating and fishing. Also close by is the Arizona Trail, a crushed rock trail that makes walking, running, or biking much easier.
