Description
The Turquoise Room at the restored La Posada Hotel in Winslow, Arizona, is not only a wonderful dining experience, it’s a step back in time to the grand tradition of travel. Once a 1930s Fred Harvey House, La Posada was the finest of the great railroad hotels, and dinner at the Turquoise Room was a signature experience. Today, the menu mixes tradition with modern southwest fusion and never disappoints. This is a mandatory overnight stop on every Southwest adventure we take in our LTV.
Menu Favorites
From the Mimbreno Indian China, designed in the 1920s by Grand Canyon architect Mary Coulter, to the painted and carved wood beams and adobe walls to the attentive staff, the ambiance of the dinner experience is not to be missed. Everything on the menu is scrumptious, and the 5-star details transport you to high-end city dining yet with wide-open sunset desert views.
Nearby Attractions
The La Posada has two limited hook-up RV spaces behind the hotel for a few dollars, and you’re treated as a hotel guest. Spend the night, wander the streets of quaint Winslow, and enjoy a signature cocktail on any of the welcoming patios and public spaces. At the same time, you savor the hotel ambiance and then enjoy the best Arizona dining experience offered to a lowly RV traveler. If the La Posada sites aren’t’ available, stay at Homolovi State Park, about three miles away, and walk the ancient ruins.
