Heartland LTV’ers held their Spring Rally at John C. Jack Briscoe Group Camp at Mark Twain Lake near Hannibal, Missouri, May 1 – 4. On a breezy, Monday afternoon the coaches rolled into a beautiful, secluded campground on the bluffs above the lake. In total, we had 21 LTVs and 39 participants.

The three days were spent connecting with old friends and making new ones. Each morning started with coffee and breakfast provided by LTV, and morning meetings which included the daily schedule and announcements from our new leaders, Ken and Kendra Johnson. We were blessed to have Don and Rose Klassen with us throughout the Rally. Don, an LTV Territory Sales Manager, provided a wealth of information through question and answer sessions.

Tuesday morning’s meeting included an “Internet on the Road” presentation by Andy Dudler. In the afternoon, Angie Kramer led a lively show-and-tell session with members demonstrating their favorite coach/camping accessories. Dinner consisted of a soup bar and accompaniments. Following dinner, campers enjoyed a game to win special prizes donated by LTV and a water softener donated by On The Go. Participants finished the evening with a comedy movie and popcorn at the pavilion and/or a campfire.

Wednesday morning started with pancakes and eggs to order. Several members volunteered their grills and skills to prepare local burgers, bacon, pancakes, and eggs.

Following daily announcements, Dan Dwyer from Van City St. Louis presented on power management off-grid and how to use your RV during the colder and winter months. Dan surprised the group with an amazing attendance prize. One lucky participant received a set of rear Timbren Springs and installation courtesy of Van City. Dan stayed on to answer questions and assist owners with coach questions.

Wednesday afternoon Rob Westphal and Andy Dudler led a discussion for those interested in all things bikes, followed by a bike ride to the Mark Twain Lake Visitor’s Center.

Participants enjoyed an evening meal at the Rustic Oak Cabin Steakhouse.

Thursday, brought a beautiful morning, breakfast items provided by LTV. Members spent a leisurely time, saying goodbye and making plans for future meet-ups.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and talents to make our Rally fun and successful.  Thank you to Don Klassen, Dan Dwyer, Andy Dudler, and Angie Kramer for leading the presentations. We would also like to say thank you to Van City and LTV for all the contributions and support of our group. Until next time, safe travels, and we hope to meet up again soon.
