Each year, we look forward to gathering stories from our LTV community about your most memorable travels and adventures throughout the year. From taking ownership of your LTV, exploring your hometown, state, or province, or experiencing a brand new place, these stories touch our hearts and inspire us to innovate and elevate the Leisure Travel Vans ownership experience. These stories are the best way to say farewell to the year that was. Please enjoy some of what our LTV community experienced in 2024.

We recently moved from Washington State to Texas and were looking for a way to escape the summer heat. This far south, the shortest route to duck the heat is to climb at an altitude. We planned a trip to New Mexico and Colorado, where we spent three weeks circumnavigating the southern Rocky Mountains, mostly at 8,000 to 9,000 feet. Great time, outstanding Unity performance, goal achieved.

William M.

A 4,300-mile trip from Houston to South Dakota to Yellowstone and back dubbed The Bison Tour. Custer State Park, South Dakota, was a gem: 71,000 acres and 1,400 bison.

Sharon S.

We completed a bucket list trip, traveling from Ohio through Route 66 and stopping at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. Then, to our son’s home in St. Augustine. The comfort of our Wonder Rear Lounge made the nine weeks so enjoyable. We love our home on wheels.

Thomas S.

This was a very eventful travel year for us, but not one that we had planned for. Our original plans were to take five weeks this fall and travel to the four corners of the United States to visit family approximately 9,000 miles, including a stop at the LTV factory in Winkler. But this was not to be. Instead, it took us three hours to drive 75 miles to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, where I received a new heart valve. The surgery was a success. Now, our trip to Winkler will take place in June 2025.

Chris B.

We had the best three-week trip from Skaneateles, New York, through Lake Winnipesaukee and the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Kennebunk, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park, then to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. The high point of our trip was “The Ovens,” Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia, Green Gables, and PEI National Park in Cavendish.

Mark J.

In September, we went west to Las Vegas to see the Eagles at their opening show at The Sphere. We made stops in Durango, Four Corners, Lake Powell, and Glen Canyon along the way. Following the concert, we went to Hoover Dam/ Lake Mead and back through Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison. We didn’t spend enough time at any of the locations, but we will go back to all of them for an extended stay.

Rebecka S.

Redfish Lake at Glacier View Campground in Idaho was beautiful. There are no hookups, but there is a place down the road to get drinking water, and it has a dump station. I am not fond of not having hookups, but this place is worth the inconvenience. We were there in late June.

We were excited to be selected for the Fall Annual Rally in Winkler. The Triple E employees displayed their usual efficiency, placing us in our assigned slots. We met Dean again and were astonished that he remembered us again. Winkler Bible Camp was the perfect venue to accommodate 140+ vans and 200+ members. Hubby and I had to split up to attend all educational seminars and tours. The food was so good; I was surprised that my food allergy was not a problem for them, and of course, the factory tour displayed the workmanship of the Triple E employees. Bravo! It was worth the 3,600 miles of mostly wildfire smoke and crisp, dry landscape to get there and back. If only it were longer!

Turning 80 at my birthday party on Quadra Island in British Columbia.

My Wonder Rear Twin Bed highlight of the year would be my photography trip to the 52nd annual International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I drove from Cincinnati past St. Louis to Albuquerque, enjoying the scenery and making plans to return and do a Route 66 trip in 2025. While boondocking in the South RV lot for three nights, I enjoyed being with another Class C camping couple. At dusk, activities such as the Dawn Patrol, Mass Ascension, and Glowdeo provided wonderful photography opportunities.

Tony & Penny P.

Every trip of 2024 was wonderful, thanks to our Wonder Rear Twin Bed, but if we have to pick a highlight trip, it would be Mayberry Days in Mount Airy, North Carolina.

Joel S.

One of the unique places we visited in 2024 was Providence Canyon State Park in Georgia. You can’t camp with the RV in this park, but it is worth a day to go hiking in the canyons.

Neil M.

In late January, we left Coldstream, British Columbia, and traveled down the Pacific coast in our 2021 Unity Murphy bed. I dropped my wife off in La Quinta, California, where she stayed with her two girlfriends. I then drove with my dog (Emma, a Border Terrier) as my copilot along the southern border to the Gulf Coast, terminating at Key West, Florida. The return trip was through a more northern route back to La Quinta. I boondocked most of the trip, stopping in commercial campgrounds every fourth day to attend to the tanks. The trip was fabulous, and our LTV performed flawlessly!

Rich Y.

Our 2024 travel highlight was our cross-country trip on Route 66 from California to Chicago, Illinois, and then to the LTV Rally, visiting the amazing Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan, and Mackinac Island, also in Michigan. Camping in beautiful Canada before the rally. We traversed through North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, and Nevada on our way home.

Kelvin H.

Driving our 2018 Unity Twin Bed from north of the 55th parallel down to our new home on the 50th! Travel will be so much more exciting, not having to travel eight hours to get to reality–it’s been 30 years!

Rory W.

This year’s travels took us as far north as Central Maine and to the Southernmost point in the United States–the Key West. Our 2023 Unity Twin Bed made our travels “a dream come true.” May all our fellow LTVers’ dreams come to fruition as well. I wish you all the best on your journeys and hope our paths cross. God bless.

Douglas G.

Coming home to our LTV after a long day on the trail. Kananaskis Provincial Park. Alberta, Canada.

Ribin R.

Finally, I got to visit the largest ball of twine in Cawker, Kansas! With the connection to lovely volunteer Linda, we could add twine to the ball and become a part of its history!

Michael B.

I had been trying to visit Mt . Lassen National Park for several years, but Northern California wildfires continued until this spring.

Frédéric C.

Our highlight was taking delivery of our new Wonder Rear Lounge on November 1 and traveling from Quebec to visit our son in Edmonton, Alberta, before heading to Arizona. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

Barry G.

We chased the April 2024 Total Solar Eclipse as the weather forecast changed and surprised the tiny town of Newport, Vermont, as 4,000 fellow enthusiasts ended up descending on the Prouty Beach Campground, which, in northern Vermont, was still closed for the winter, as there was snow on the ground. The town graciously let us all camp for free.

Mark W.

We took a month-long trip from Michigan to Washington State via the backroads to see what the country offers. We were constantly amazed at the wonderful people we met and the beautiful scenarios we could enjoy. We found that our LTV Wonder has become our home away from home, and when we returned to Michigan, we were ready to go out again. We want to thank everyone at Leisure Travel Vans for making such a wonderful product that allows us to travel carefree.

Clarke H.

My wife and I completed a nine-week, 10,000-mile circuit of the United States (and a little bit of Canada). We visited close friends and most of our extended family, researched our family roots at courthouses and cemeteries, and educated ourselves about the Civil War by visiting several Civil War sites. We experienced heat, hail, thunderstorms, a flood, and remnants of a hurricane. Oh, and we celebrated our 42nd anniversary along the way.

Paul D.

We came across this spot unexpectedly while traveling from Vegas to Zion. It is located in the northwest corner of Arizona. We spent an afternoon and evening right off I-15 in Virgin River Canyon. I met a nice person with a drone, and he shared this video of us and our 2015 Unity Corner Bed.

Mark M.

We entered Yosemite Valley late on an October afternoon in a rainstorm. We took a wrong turn heading to the campground, but it was good. Just as we rounded a curve coming back, the clouds parted, and the setting sun made Half Dome glow with a golden light. Gorgeous serendipity!

Elizabeth S.

Our 2024 travel highlight was attending our very first Travelers Club rally. We met many wonderful folks at the Western Sunsetters fall rally. After having such an amazing first experience with this RV rally, we are now signed up for two more rallies with two different clubs. We are thankful to have our RV and to be able to travel, see amazing places, and meet wonderful people.

Charles S.

Our travel highlight was driving down the west coast of Oregon in our 2024 Unity Twin Bed from the Eugene area to the California border. We went with another couple with a Unity Twin Bed to explore lighthouses. We stayed at four campgrounds for eight days and saw the wonderful southern coast with magnificent rock formations in the sea and onto the beaches. We ran into other LTV owners and had three Unity RVs in a row at two campgrounds, which was unplanned. We also got to share experiences with other LTV owners who pulled over to say hello along the way!

Dave R.

Camping on the Gulf next to Florida’s white sand, watching a shrimp boat.

Rob R.

We took delivery of our Unity Rear Lounge in March 2024 and then put on almost 11,000 kilometers over the next six months, traveling around British Columbia and Western Alberta. Our LTV allowed us to easily explore parts of both provinces that we had never seen before. We live in an absolutely beautiful and scenic part of the world! Thank you, LTV, for producing such an excellent, quality RV that makes traveling around enjoyable!

Rob G.

Our highlight was traveling to Winkler with our 2024 Unity Murphy Bed to get it repaired. Willy and Mary treated us like royalty; the RV was fixed quicker than LTV had anticipated. We got a tour of the factory and made a trip out of this adventure, as we had never traveled this far west from our home in Ontario. We got to travel the northern Ontario route across Highway 17, seeing all the fall colors and beautiful landscapes. Thank you!

Paul M.

Our Wonder Rear Twin Bed allowed us to do some great boondocking in Newfoundland during a trip in June. Thank you to everyone at LTV for allowing us to watch the sunset over the Labrador Sea from Crow Head.

Charlie B.

Having bought our Unity Corner bed in May this year, we are still in a major learning cycle for Unity and love it. We live on mid-Vancouver Island, where we are blessed with numerous beautiful Provincial Campgrounds and Boondocking opportunities, which we have availed ourselves of many times this summer and fall. We have also made two 2,500-kilometer trips on the mainland, visiting friends and showing them this fantastic unit. We are taken aback by the design and installed equipment’s innovation and quality whenever we access this motorhome. As for the Mercedes, part of the motorhome is an absolute delight to drive and delivers exceptional fuel consumption figures. We are already booked for the Western Club camp next May in Osoyoos.

Doug R.

My first trip to Canada included a stop at the Winkler mothership for work on the LTV and at the Winnie the Pooh memorial in White River. Thanks again, Mary and the rest of the folks, for all their work.

Tom H.

9,922 miles and 113 days on the road! We reached Cape Flattery in Washington from Florida—many great places along the Washington and Oregon Coast. However, the most stunning part of the trip was the Interstate 70 drive from Salina, Utah, to Moab, Utah. It was like driving through a National Park at 65 miles per hour with amazing views! The most amazing view, though, was the Spotted Wolf Canyon overlook! I still marvel at this picture and the engineering it must have required to build this road.

Shari F.

Our highlight of 2024 was taking our Unity Island Bed to Alaska–the trip of a lifetime. We traveled for two months this summer and could not be happier with how our LTV performed. It was the perfect size for those crazy Alaska roads.

Peter C.

Driving the five kilometers from our house to Traveland RV Super Center in Langley, British Columbia, to pick up our 2025 Wonder Rear lounge in early October. The trip home was even more exciting. Anything more exotic than that will have to wait for spring now that it is winterized. Maybe I will have read all the LTV and Ford owners manuals by then, but understanding them may take a bit longer.

Eric B.

My travel highlights were the Cabot Trail, Atlantic provinces, and Maine.

Tim & Jamie B.

We went full-time living in our 2024 Unity Rear Lounge and couldn’t be happier! 17,000 miles, 13 National Parks, countless state parks and campgrounds, and three times from Seattle to Tampa (or vice versa), and we are so pleased with our LTV. Thank you, and Happy Holidays!

Bill S.

We traveled west in our new-to-us Wonder Murphy Bed Lounge to visit two grandkids at Yellowstone National Park, then continued west to Vancouver Island and Nanaimo to take our granddaughter on a five-day camping trip on the island. Then, we headed to Idaho to be docents at the Nature Conservancy’s Silver Creek Preserve for two weeks, and then we went back home. All totaled eight weeks and 8,000 flawless miles on the road.

Dennis A.

We celebrated our tenth year of RVing in our Wonder Rear Lounge. The fun ensued with a circumnavigation around Lake Superior clockwise. Waterfalls, lighthouses, and rocky cliffs highlighted this Great Lake adventure. A day trip to Mackinac Island and Door Country, Wisconsin, was topping it all off. You don’t need to make it around the entire Great Lake to have the Superior Experience. A trip to the Munising, Minnesota, area, including Split Rock State Park, Lighthouse, and the Gunflint Trail, is enough to roll back the centuries to the trappers, Indigenous peoples, and Vouagers of yore.

Ross & Allison C.

Returning to Teton National Park is always a real treat. What a treat that the National Park Service provides large, full-service RV sites in these important natural wonders.

Tom R.

Anticipating my January 2024 retirement, we purchased a 2003 LTV Freedom widebody in Arizona and put 2,000 miles on it, driving it home to Northern Minnesota in December 2023. This past summer, I worked on the campervan to prepare it for an Alaska road trip. After a couple of two-day weekend camping test runs in June, we left for Alaska on June 28 and arrived back home on August 5. Our 39-day Alaska adventure covered 7,311 miles over the road, taking the Alaskan highway from Dawson Creek to Soldotna on the Kenai Peninsula. We then covered 912 miles by Ferry from Haynes, Alaska, to Bellingham, Washington. The LTV also worked well in November as my hunting shack for the nine-day Minnesota deer rifle season before storing it for winter.

Jack R.

A great year of travel, including a 70-day, 10,000-mile trip to the Pacific coast and the Canadian Rockies.

Clyde K

We have a 2014 Libero that has driven to 49 states and most of Canada. Our 2024 highlight was taking a 30-day trip through Utah to visit all five national parks and Monument Valley. What beautiful scenery and structures!

Jim K.

We visited relatives and friends in our new Unity from Wisconsin to Albuquerque for the October balloon fiesta.

Randy E.

One of our favorite two-week trips is to Vancouver Island via the Sechelt Peninsula. We took the ferry from Horseshoe Bay and camped overnight in Halfmoon Bay, dining out at La Bettolina/Upper Deck restaurant in Secret Cove and continuing on the next day to a ferry from Earl’s Cove to Saltery Bay. We drove to the end of Highway 101 in Lund, stopped for breakfast at Nancy’s Bakery, then reversed south to Powell River for a three-day stay on the ocean at Willingdon Beach Municipal Campground. We then caught a ferry to Comox on Vancouver Island and traveled north to Campbell River, where we took a 10-minute ferry ride to Quadra Island and camped at Rebecca Spit. From there, we hopped on another ferry and spent two days on Cortes Island.

To return to Vancouver, we drove south on Vancouver Island to Duke Point, just south of Nanaimo, and caught the ferry to Tswassen and Vancouver.

Margaret C.

Newfoundland was our travel highlight! Spectacular scenery and very nice people from Alberta to Newfoundland. There is so much beauty from J. T Cheeseman Provincial Park campground just 10 kilometers from Port aux Basques through Gros Morne National Park, then north to L’Anse aux Meadows and east to Pippy Park in St. John’s and the famous Skerwink Trail near Trinity. There is so much more to see and do. We will have to go back.

Best wishes to all for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
