One might think buying an RV, learning about said RV, joining an RV gang, as I refer to it (hey, I work in the court system. It’s more intriguing than “Spending my non-existent children’s inheritance”) might be a bit intimidating for a single gal in midlife. Not when the gang is the LTV Roadrunners and our gang leaders are none other than Dennis Thorig and his lovely wife Darleen.
During the Labor Day holiday week, our gang went to Big Bear, CA, where we stayed at Holloway’s Marina and RV Park, my fifth trip with Dennis and Darleen. Biking, a boat trip on the lake, taking the local MARTA to town for lunch and shopping, along with happy hours and dinners together at the Thorig site, made for a fantastic time away.
Now, you might wonder whether this single gal ever feels uncomfortable among the long-time marrieds. Nope, not a bit. I learn so much from everyone! We share RV information, food, drink, laughs, and camaraderie.
There are two big trips coming up with the Roadrunners, one to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in October and one next summer to Alaska.
Sadly, I’m still working and have to miss these trips. But when I retire, you can be certain I will join as many trips with Dennis and Darleen as possible!
