Each year, our local Winkler Community Foundation hosts an event called Pay It Forward May. The message is simple–Do something nice for someone and ask nothing in return other than they do something nice for someone else. In light of this theme of generosity, we wanted to shed some light on another worthy upcoming event–Canadian RVing and Camping Week, which takes place from May 22-27, 2018.
Canadian RVing and Camping Week is an annual celebration of RVing and camping in Canada, while also creating awareness and gathering charitable donations for children with life-threatening illnesses through Make-A-Wish® Canada. Last year, thanks to the funds raised during Canadian RVing and Camping Week, a brave six-year old’s wish came true. Parker was granted his wish for an RV to go camping, fishing, and hiking and make memories with his family and friends. Here are Parker and family enjoying their new pop-up trailer and fishing gear. From Tuesday, May 22nd to Sunday, May 27th, 2018, select campgrounds and dealerships across Canada will help raise funds for Make-A-Wish® Canada and offer special discounts in support of Canadian RVing and Camping Week.
How can I participate?
- Simply go RVing and enjoy our beautiful country! Also, on Saturday, May 26th at participating campgrounds, RVers will gather around campfires across Canada and host a Nationwide S’mores Roast sponsored by Hershey Canada.
- Are you a Leisure Travel Vans owner? Make a donation to Make-A-Wish® Canada, big or small, and Leisure Travel Vans will match it! * Simply visit the donation page, make a donation, then forward your email receipt to [email protected]. Let’s see what we can do together to make another child’s wish come true! Big or small, all donations make a difference!
