What a fabulous flocking weekend!
With nearly 80 coaches and over 150 spirited members in attendance, the Florida Flamingles truly brought their A-game to the Sweet Citrus Acres RV Resort in Crystal River, Florida. It was one of our best rallies, from making new friends to seeing old friends!
Everyone got to take home a vibrant beach towel adorned with our beloved Flamingles logo–perfect for those sunny days ahead! Lots of door prizes were given away, too. The do-it-yourself fever was alive and well. It was so cool to see everyone’s projects that they’ve done themselves.
The excitement kicked off Friday night when Lithionics, one of our fantastic sponsors, surprised us all with a jaw-dropping giveaway: a state-of-the-art 320 A/h battery valued at nearly $5,000. A huge round of applause goes to Frank and Phyllis Koskosky, the lucky winners–congratulations.
Our “Empress of Electricity” and Chief Technical Officer, Sandy Johnson, inspired us with a captivating keynote session on Saturday morning, and what’s better than learning and connecting? Lori Johndrow took the reins for five engaging tabletop discussions, during which members dove into various travel destinations—who knows what travel gems were discovered? Sue Wittpen filled us in on the Escapees Travel Club, and we learned so much more.
Our “Me & My LTV” session in the afternoon was a total hit. Members strolled the campground, peeking inside each other’s rigs, swapping stories, and sharing unique features and upgrades—nothing brings people together like a little RV show-and-tell.
On Sunday, we gathered for our business meeting and officially installed our new board: Scott Johnston as President, Margo Hickman as Treasurer, and Patricia (PJ) Jones as Secretary.
We also welcomed an enthusiastic group of new volunteers to lead our committees: website management/membership, marketing/communications, hospitality, educational programs, sponsors, online merchandising, and rally site selection. We’re excited to see all the fresh ideas they’ll bring. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to keep the Flock together.
A massive shoutout to our awesome caterer, Cody’s Roadhouse, who served delightful meals that kept our spirits and bellies full. We are also immensely grateful to this year’s sponsors, who make it all possible: CTM Customs, Lithionics, SkyMed, Kleen Tank, MagnaShade, and Gerzeny’s–we couldn’t do our events without them.
