The Ontario Sun Risers held their 2025 fall rally from September 23-26 at Golden Lake Park in Golden Lake, Ontario.
This was our second visit to this very popular, quaint resort with superb hosts in the heart of the Ottawa Valley. Mother Nature provided amazing autumn colours and only threatened rain.
Each morning began with a group chat and a relaxing coffee time to ease everyone into the day’s activities. The 40 LTVs and their occupants enjoyed cave adventures, presentations by a local search and rescue team, a water quality specialist, the Canadian Snowbird Association, and the Ontario Recreation Therapist Association. Nightly campfires, along with a one-time performance from a professional musical entertainer, highlighted the end of each day. Unstructured social times, as well as ‘Open Doors,’ provided an opportunity for attendees to meet, view LTVs, and share stories and information.
LTVs ranging in age from 2002 to 2025, from across Ontario, the Maritimes, and Manitoba were in attendance, as well as several (eight to be exact) first-time rally participants. One highlight was the men’s ‘bucket hat’ fashion show, where several participants donned their chosen hats and paraded in front of the entire group. The attendees, volunteers, and organizing team came together to deliver a great four days. The rally concluded with a locally engaged caterer, who thoroughly impressed all with an excellent meal.
