Our 2019 Saskatchewan LTV Rally will take place at the River Park Campground located along the river in the Wakimow Valley in Moose Jaw. Our dates are Tuesday June 25 to Friday June 28. We hope everyone can arrive Tuesday evening.
On Wednesday morning I have tours arranged of the Western Development Museum which focuses primarily on transportation. Wednesday afternoon we will visit the Sunkanen Ship Pioneer Village and Museum which is about 14 km south of Moose Jaw.
Thursday morning we will visit the Tunnels of Moose Jaw and take in two tours: The Chicago Connection that covers the days of prohibition and Al Capone’s connection to Moose Jaw, and a second tour The Passage to Fortune which tells the story of the hardships of the early Chinese immigrants who were brought to Canada to build the railway.
After the Tunnel tours we will proceed to Hopkins Dining Parlour for lunch. The rest of the afternoon you will be free to spend some time in historic downtown Moose Jaw which has some great shops, galleries and some wonderful murals. You may also want to visit the Temple Gardens Spa and hotel or Casino Moose Jaw that is right across the street from the Spa.
A couple other things of interest that Tourism Moose Jaw mentioned to me was the flagship store for the company OLIV that does tours and tastings, or the Yvette Moore Gallery, all of which are located in the downtown area. River Park Campground has 25 sites with water and power, They are assigned at the time of booking. The cost for water & power site is $36/night + a $10 reservation fee.
If you are planning on coming you need to do two things as soon as possible:
1. Call Wakimow Valley at 306-692- 2717 and select Option 2 for Trish the administrator. Tell them you want to book a site for the Western Sunsetters LTV Rally in River Park Campground. They will do their best to keep all the Western Sunsetters together. You will need a credit card to process your reservation.
2. Once you are booked, and this is important, e-mail me at [email protected] to let me know you are coming and the names of everyone in your coach. This is essential for me in booking the tours. It also allow me a means to forward further details as they become available.
